What does a Furnace Preventative maintenance appointment consist of?
During a Furnace Preventative Maintenance appointment, our professional and highly trained HVAC technician will:
- Test the cycle of your furnace
- Perform a carbon monoxide test
- Perform a gas leak test
- Inspect and adjust all electrical components
- Use a borescope to inspect the heat exchanger for cracks and deterioration
- Clean burner assembly including the flame sensor
- Inspect all safety controls for proper operation
- Inspect the blower assembly and lubricate if necessary
- Inspect the air filter in the system and replace if necessary
- Inspect the flue draft, combustion, and vent piping
- Inspect the thermostat and calibrate if necessary
- Inspect and flush all condensation drain lines if applicable
- Wipe down and/or vacuum the furnace from top to bottom to remove debris from inside the unit
- Inspect all capacitors in the furnace to confirm proper microfarad levels
- Visually inspect the furnace control board
- Inspect draft inducer assembly
- Record temperature rise
- Inspect humidifier system
- Inspect and verify proper voltage and amp draw on motors
- Inspect for any air leaks near the furnace
- Inspect the flames flowing through each burner
What does an Air conditioner Preventative maintenance appointment Consist of?
Your Smart Choice HVAC technician will:
- Test the cycle of your air conditioner
- Inspect the thermostat and calibrate if necessary
- Inspect Return/Supply temperature differential
- Inspect and flush condensation drain if applicable
- Inspect air conditioner disconnect fuse box
- Inspect condenser fan motor and its operation
- Inspect condenser fan motor electrical amp reading
- Inspect condenser fan motor blades
- Inspect refrigerant levels on the unit
- Inspect and tighten all electrical components if necessary
- Visually inspect for refrigerant leaks
- Inspect and test all capacitors and relays
- Inspect the compressor and its operation
- Inspect the compressor electrical amp reading
- Inspect the contactor in your A/C system
- Inspect blower assembly
- Inspect the air filter and replace if necessary
- Clean the outdoor condenser coil and remove debris from the unit
- Inspect service and Shrader valve on the unit
- Inspect copper insulation to the unit
- Make sure the air conditioner is level
